Juliet Frances Castaneda. Her name is official. Some of you already knew this — Facebookers. BTW sorry for being lazy bloggers. But we’ve been changing diapers and feeding a baby (John’s not feeding her, just Jackie).

Juliet was born on a Saturday but we did not have the name til Monday. Honestly, we thought she was going to be a boy. That’s what our mommas were saying. That’s what the majority of cousins were saying. That’s what passersby were saying. So that’s what we believed. (So much for the Secret). Nevertheless, we were surprised! Happy! And grateful that she’s came out healthy. We had all boys names (Tidbit: the name would’ve been Benjamin Francis Castaneda “next time nalang”). And one girl’s name, Juliet.

Of course we went through an onslaught of people’s suggestions. I won’t name any of the names. But, they just didn’t fit.

She is almost two weeks old! We still are on cloud 9. We love her soooooooo much! We still can’t believe it — we are parents. Juliet is our baby! We all “growed” up! Sorta 😉

Check out my brother’s awesome books, When I Was Little… and the sequel When I Was Little Too. Illustrated and written by Justin.

Tell him about when you were little and maybe your childhood memory will be illustrated in the next book! Visit the When I Was Little… blog.

When You Were Little Memory

Wanted: When You Were Little Memory

Just thought I’d share…

Dear fans of JAJPO,

We would like to present Baby Castaneda! It’s a girl! Delivered 3:58 pm; 6 pounds, 12 ounces; 19″ Long; brown hair like her momma; has a castaneda nose; long legs; chubby cheeks.

We came into that delivery room super-prepared. Jackie was awesome. Papa John did not faint! Super-prepared with the exception if having a girls name. If it were a boy it would have been Benjamin Francis Castaneda. 😉

But for now “Plus One” has no name…but she sure is cute!

At the hospital!

Here we are! Almost there. Grandmas and auntie Jazzy waiting!

Only a few more days Til the 15th! Did some reorganizing and threw out a lot of stuff. Almost glad we don’t gave a garage where we will have just stored all stuff we threw out. Oh well. Bedroom is ready to go. The changing table fits! And it looks nice. Well we ate breakfast. Got a new shovel to dig out my car just in case the other car doesn’t start. Keep you all posted!

Almost there!

Month 8

Month 8

Baby’s senses are continuing to improve — when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, baby can now recognize and react to simple songs… time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and you may notice baby descend into your pelvis at the end of this month.
